Audax Renovables, through its marketing company ADX Energía, has been awarded the second contract to supply electricity to eight Spanish public universities in 2026.

January 16, 2026.– Adx Renewables,  ADX Renovables has been awarded the Second contract based on the framework agreement for the supply of electricity to the buildings of the Universities of Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, Illes Balears, La Rioja, Murcia, Oviedo, Public University of Navarra and Zaragoza.

The award, with a duration of one year, includes the supply of 115,717,382 kWh annual of renewable energy, to 178 supply points, for a total value of €20,364,293 (VAT included). This volume is equivalent to covering the electricity consumption of 28,750 households for a whole year.

This contract has been tendered under the indexed price modality, which means that the cost of energy is calculated according to the price set by the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE) in every 15-minute interval. Furthermore, universities have the option of fixing prices for specific periods through hedging, which allows them to ensure stability and predictability in their energy expenditure.

The document allows Set the Cost of Adjustment Services (COS) and review them at the end of the contract. These costs are incurred by the system operator (RedeiaThis is to maintain balance and ensure the electricity grid functions correctly. Instead of applying a high estimate from the outset—which would increase the price—a provisional value is established and adjusted to the actual cost at the end of the year. This provides transparency and prevents universities from paying unnecessary surcharges.

Thanks to this flexibility, universities have secured raw material supplies for 100% of their consumption throughout 2026, benefiting from the particularly favorable market conditions following the awarding of the agreement. Furthermore, this approach avoids the premiums associated with fixed-price tenders, which typically include additional costs to cover differences between the bid price and the actual price at the time of the award.

Marc Blasi, The country manager of Audax Renovables in Spain, stated:
This contract reflects our ability to offer flexible, sustainable energy solutions tailored to the needs of large consumers. We want to be more than just an energy provider: our goal is to support organizations and companies in managing and optimizing their contracts.”.
