The internationalisation of Audax Energía began in 2013 with the setting up of the Portuguese subsidiary, which already ranks 9th among energy suppliers based on sales.

In 2014 Audax entered the Italian market by acquiring the retailer Big Energia, and a year later multiplied by 5 the number of its customers in that market through the acquisition of the client portfolio of Compagnia Energetica Italiana.

In 2015 the expansion towards Northern Europe was initiated by setting up the German subsidiary of Audax in Hoyerswerda, later moved to Berlin, the capital city of the country, from where it began its constant growth.

In 2017 Audax began operating in the Netherlands through the purchase of 72% of the renown Dutch electricity and gas retailer Main Energie, a company of similar size to Audax in Spain and ranking 4th in the country

In 2020 Audax entered the Hungarian market by acquiring the electric utility E.ON Energiakereskedelmi Kft., which has a 25% share of the competitive Hungarian market of SMEs, large industrial and municipal customers.
