Audax acquires a photovoltaic project in the province of Valladolid
Located in the municipality of Ciguñuela, the Zaratán project will be the company's first installation in Castilla y León.
It will produce 12.36 MWp, and, during its life cycle, it will provide work for 80 people directly and indirectly and will avoid the emission into the atmosphere of 3,840 tons of CO2 per year.
DECEMBER 17, 2021.– Audax Renovables (ADX.MC), a vertically integrated Spanish energy group that generates 100% renewable energy and supplies electricity and gas to customers in 7 European countries, announces the acquisition of the Zaratán photovoltaic project, in the municipality of Ciguñuela (Valladolid), which already has all the administrative permits to begin construction at the beginning of 2022.
The plant will occupy a total area of 25 hectares, will have a total power of 12.36 MWp and will be the first Audax installation in Castilla y León. During its construction, to which the company plans to allocate between 7 and 8 million euros, Audax expects that it will generate around 70 direct and indirect jobs in its immediate surroundings, and, once in operation, it will employ around 10 professionals. also directly and indirectly.
The installation of this plant will make it possible to generate in Valladolid the equivalent of the energy consumption of almost 5,500 homes and around 17,000 people, and its commitment to clean energy will prevent the emission of 3,840 tons of CO2 per year into the atmosphere.
José Elías Navarro, President of Audax Renovables, stated in connection with this announcement that “fulfillment of our strategic plan involves developing our current portfolio, but also taking advantage of opportunities like this one, which allows us to incorporate a 'ready to build' project. which we will begin to build between the months of January and February 2022. We remain attentive to purchasing opportunities for other photovoltaic projects or portfolios that allow us to accelerate the incorporation of new installed power.”
As of September 30, Audax produced 140 GW distributed among facilities in Spain, France and Poland, and our country represented 67% of the total. At the beginning of 2021, the group added 1,968 MW to its portfolio in Spain, Italy and Portugal, which it plans to commission in the next 5 years. Of these projects, in the current year 15 MWp of the Cañamares and Carolinas I and II plants have come into operation, 40 MWp of the Zarzuela I, II, II and IV projects in the province of Toledo and Alberizas I, II , III and IV, in the province of Guadalajara. And 14.5 MWp of the Los Arenales, El Toconal and Calañas projects are in the final phase of construction, which will come into operation in the coming weeks.
